Read. Pray. Obey.

Sometimes it just needs to be that simple. Our efforts toward discipleship are so often hindered. We struggle. Our old nature is constantly drawing us away from obedience to Christ. Sin gets in the way. We then look for that "one-thing" that will change it all and fire up our spiritual life. Be the latest church gimmick just doesn't seem to do it. Keep it simple.

Read the Bible. 2 Tim 3:16-17. All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Pray about what you are reading. Hebrews 4:16 Therefore, let us approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need.

Obey what Jesus tells you through His Word. John 14:23 Jesus answered, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word. My Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.

You will grow in your relationship with the Lord through these simple disciplines. Just get in the habit of these daily.
